Ruggiero Sfregola

Since 2011, he has been the Concertino dei Primi Violini in the Orchestra Nazionale di Santa Cecilia. He graduated in violin in 1994 at the Conservatory Umberto Giordano of Foggia under the guidance of Orazio Sarcina with honors, he studied at the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Chamber Music with Felix Ayo (1994-1997) and in Violin with Beatrice Antonioni (1996-1999), in the same place he was a student of Giuseppe Principe for two years at the Course of First Violin (1997-1999). For three years he was concertino of the Youth Orchestra of the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia (1996-1999); in 1999 he won the scholarship for First Violin at the Accademia del Teatro alla Scala in Milan and in the same year he won the post of Concertino of the First Violins with obligation of the Shoulder and that of Concertino of the Second Violins with obligation of the First of the Seconds at the Orchestra of the Teatro San Carlo in Naples and the competition for the post of Violino di Fila in the Orchestra of the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia. He has been playing since 1996 in a Violin and Piano Duo with Eleonora Orlando (Prizes received at the V Riviera del Conero International Chamber Music Competition 1997, First Prize Moncalieri at the European Music Competition); he founded the Stradivari Sextet (www.sestettostradivari.com) with which he was a full member until 2012 and since 2005 he has been playing with the Quint'etto (www.5etto.com). Since 2017 he has been playing in string trio formation with the Triofolk di Santa Cecilia (www.triofolk.it). In 2021 he returns to play with the Sestetto Stradivari. He plays a Violin built for him by luthier Igor Moroder in Milan in 2016.
