Sophia Azzollini, born in 2005, began studying the violin with Maestro Orazio Vicari in 2009. From 2013 to 2017 she attended the Pre-Academic Courses at the Conservatory of Santa Cecilia in Rome under the guidance of Maestro Michele Tisei. From 2017 to 2019 she attended the Preparatory Courses under the guidance of M° Orazio Vicari in the same Conservatory to then be admitted to the Academic Courses in the autumn of 2019. She obtained her violin bachelor’s degree in March of 2024, under the guidance of M ° Laura Morelli. She is currently studying with Maestro Leonardo Spinedi. She has been a member of the JuniOrchestra of the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia since the age of seven and at the age of 10 she joined the Young section reserved for boys aged 14 to 21. She became Konzertmeister of the JuniOrchestra Young in 2021. She had the opportunity to work and play with universally acclaimed musicians and conductors. She was awarded with a Scholarship by EnelCuore Onlus in 2022. She has attended several masterclasses with teachers such as Uto Ughi, Pavel Berman, Eva Bindere, Kerson Leong, Roberto Gonzales Monjas, Tobias Granmo, Marco Fiorini Stefano Ferrario, Carlo Maria Parazzoli, David Romano, Mario Montore and Mirei Yamada. She has attended a chamber music masterclass with the musicians of the Klimt Quartet. In March 2022, she was selected to participate in the third edition of the Concertgebouworkest YOUNG in August of the same year with which she performed at prestigious concert halls such as Het Concertgebouw in Amsterdam and Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg as first part of the second violins. During this experience she was directed by important conductors such as George Jackson and Gustavo Gimeno and she accompanied the soloist Isabelle Faust. She achieved her violin bachelor degree with maximum grades and is currently completing the Master in the Conservatory of Santa Cecilia in Rome.
